Karen Miller is the Chair of the NKR Operations Committee. She graduated with Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She started her career in the inpatient Transplant unit at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics caring for kidney, kidney/pancreas, and liver transplant recipients and kidney donors. She became a kidney transplant coordinator in 2004 and managed post kidney, pre kidney and kidney donor evaluation. She then transitioned to desensitization program for kidney and kidney/pancreas transplant recipients. In 2010 UW joined National Kidney Registry and Karen became the Paired Kidney Exchange coordinator and completed our first exchange on February 11, 2011. Karen enjoys the daily challenges of paired kidney exchange. Her motto is, "Whatever it takes..." in order to make a transplant happen. It is certainly a privilege to be part of something that is so unique and special. Karen's family includes her husband and three sons. Karen enjoys reading, camping, travel, and being with her family.
